Over the past few years, our deployed Air Force Security Forces men and women have been heavily engaged in very challenging combat assignments in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other global crisis locations. As we write this, many men and women of our United States Air Force Security Forces have died from combat and other line of duty incidents. Other Security Forces troops have serious disabling injuries and longterm stress disorder problems, some recovering at military medical facilities. Active, reserve and National Guard Forces have all been affected by these family crises situations.

The members we have lost through these engagements have often left young children and families with special needs. Recognizing this, we have organized the Air Force Security Forces Foundation to assist with the needs of these surviving children and other family matters.  One of our goals is to assist these families by providing academic assistance to those who qualify by application, to give these deserving young people the opportunity to attend college. The number of qualified students we assist will be dependent upon the amount of available financial resources in the Foundation.

Members of the Active, Reserve and National Guard components are also committed to making this a successful voluntary venture, and are partnering with us.
